Francis Ford Coppola, the director of all three films of The Godfather, and Paramount, who is the distributor of the films, said the possibilities for new movies are open.
Speaking to The New York Times, Coppola stated that he is not interested in directing the sequel, but Paramount is free to make the sequel.
Coppola said, “Father 4, 5 and 6 are quite possible. I am not the owner of Baba.”
Paramount said in the statement, “Although there are no future plans for another movie in the Father saga; given the enduring power of the Father’s legacy, this possibility stands against the possibility of the right story to emerge.”

Ruddy will also serve as executive producer on the 10-episode miniseries.
